INGREDIENTS

Dumplings:

  • 1 lb round dumpling wrappers
  • ½ lb Napa cabbage, coarsely chopped
  • ½ lb ground pork
  • ½ bunch scallions
  • ½ cup garlic chives, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 11 inch knob fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp LEVO infused sesame oil [learn how to make it: HERE]
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Sauce:

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp scallions, sliced
  • ¼ tsp toasted sesame seeds
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

1. For the dipping sauce, add the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and black pepper, and mix well. Before serving, add the scallions and sesame seeds.

2. Coarsely chop the cabbage, then transfer it to a food processor.

3. Pulse until the cabbage is finely chopped.

4. Remove the cabbage, wrap it in paper towels or kitchen towel, and squeeze to release excess moisture.

5. In a large bowl, mix together the cabbage, ground pork, scallions, garlic chives, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and LEVO infused sesame oil.

6. To form the dumplings, hold a dumpling wrapper flat in your palm, then add 2 tsps of the filling to the center of the wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper and fold, forming a taco shape. Start pinching along the curved edge of the wrapper to seal.

7. To cook the dumplings you can either boil or pan fry them.

8. Boil: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Quickly add the dumplings one at a time (you will need to do this in a few batches so they do not stick together). Lower the heat to medium, and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.Scoop the dumplings out and serve immediately.

9. Pan fry: Heat 2 tbsp of vegetable oil in a heavy duty skillet over high heat. Add the dumplings, making sure none of them touch. Add enough water to reach about halfway up the dumplings. Cover the pan and cook over medium-high heat, until all the water has evaporated and the bottoms are browned. Serve immediately.
