You have to lay it on its side when you have the adapter in.
I thought I would give this unit a try and so far it works just fine. The only complaint I have is the way the cord goes into the bottom of the unit instead of the side. You have to be careful and not let it roll off the table.
Excellent Product
It works exactly as I had hoped it would. When the battery is low, you can still use the Solo. It will by-pass the battery and will power the unit straight away.
died quickly
Was great, for a brief time. How convenient....no recharging break. But it died within 90 days...$0.50 per day. I'd look for a more durable model, or buy two at once. J
Great Item
I'd read a few people complaining about the batteries in their Solos going bad over time and I didn't want that to happen to mine so I got this adapter. It completely bypasses the battery and powers the unit straight through the outlet. Now when I'm vaping at home, I'm not putting any stress on the battery which should add years to the life of my unit. Great buy.
Not practical...Get a second solo instead...
They should have put a wall wart on the power adapter instead of a giant transformer. It's exactly like the power cords for Lenovo Laptops. The annoying part is the AC adapter cord only give you a few feet of useable cord before you have to lift the transformer. If they would have put it at the end of the cord right by the plug, the cord would be long enough to use without moving the transformer. It would have been a much better product if they put the hole you plug the power cord in on the side instead of the bottom. You can't even stand the unit upright with the AC adapter connected to the Solo., because it plugs into the very bottom of the Solo. I think I would have been better off by purchasing a second Solo. That way you could use one, and charge the other. when the battery in one Solo dies, you could switch to the second unit that's been charging. Another plus you would have spare glass pieces with a second solo.
